Kid Rock/搖滾小子（原名Robert James 'Bob' Ritchie）（1971年1月17日－）是一位美國搖滾，嘻哈音樂家，饒舌歌手和歌曲作家。1998年他錄音室專輯Devil Without a Cause的商業發行非常受歡迎，全球銷售一千三百萬張。他有5次葛萊美獎的提名。在美國，他的專輯銷售了兩千三百萬張，全球熱銷兩千七百萬張。

單曲'All Summer Long'橫掃歐洲和澳大利亞,在八個國家音樂榜單中排名第一。 2010年, 它發行 Born Free專輯, 其中單曲Born Free 成為2012年美國總統選舉中的美國共和黨提名候選人米特·羅姆尼的競選活動歌曲。

嘴吧一向不乾淨的饒舌歌手Kid Rock，1971年1月17日出生在密西根州底特律以北的一個小鎮Romeo，本名Robert James Ritchie。小鎮無聊的生活讓他一頭栽進饒舌樂，勤學街舞，底特律大大小小的比賽都不放過。1988年，Kid Rock以第一份試帶獲得Boogie Down Productions的賞識找來做開場，也因為這場表演讓Jive唱片公司注意到了這個白裡透黑的小子。1990年在Jive唱片公司發行第一張專輯《Grit Sandwiches For Breakfast》時，Kid Rock才17歲，但己經和Too $hort，D-Nice同掛製作人之名。雖然Jive唱片公司沒有花錢幫他拍音樂錄影帶做宣傳，但是與HIP HOP樂界大老Ice-Cube，Too Short一同巡迴全美40場的演唱，己經逐漸打開了他的知名度。

三年以後，Kid 搬到紐約，為保有創作自由轉戰小廠牌Continuum Records，以專輯《The Polyfuze Method》回到樂壇，一首sample自紐約鳥王Howard Stern的＜Balls In Your Mouth＞，再度成為下流名曲之一，村聲雜誌稱讚這張專輯”巧妙結合饒舌與金屬樂”，還說Kid是“天生唱饒舌的料子”。1996年發行的《Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp》更是讓Kid Rock聲名遠播，底特律一家電台因為播了他的歌＜Yodeling In The Valley＞，而被罰了高達美金$23,750 的巨額罰款。

就在饒舌重金屬（rap-metal ）樂團如Korn、Limp Bizkit、Rage Against the Machine等一個一個出頭天後，Atlantic 唱片公司決定把睹注押在Kid Rock身上，1998年8月發行了在Atlantic唱片旗下的首張作品《Devil Without A Cause》，專輯中將取樣（sampling）這個技術發揮到最高點，從Fleetwood Mac的＜Second Hand News＞到 the Politicians 70年代名曲＜Free Your Mind＞，在他的巧手下通通化身成混雜另類，饒舌與搖滾Kid Rock風。在ＭＴＶ音樂電視台的強力放送下，Kid Rock可以說是名聲如日中天，除了在Woodstock99向Jimi Hendrix致敬的表演外，1999年還和Run D-M-C，Aerosmith（史密斯飛船）同台主持MTV音樂獎頒獎典禮。算算出道己有10年的Kid Rock，卻在2000年的葛萊美獎被提名最佳新進藝人一項，雖然有點令人詫異葛萊美評審團的評定標準，但遲來的肯定總比沒有好。

在思考下張專輯的製作方向時，Rock把過去在獨立廠牌的發行版權買回來，加以重新混音或重新錄音，結集成一張具有紀念意義的回顧輯《The History Of Rock》，這張在2000年夏天發行的精選輯也有收錄數首新歌。2000年11月16日，Rock的好友兼創作搭檔Joe C.不幸因故身亡，這個打擊並沒有讓Rock停止專輯製作工作，而他的專屬DJ Uncle Kracker也在2001年夏天選擇追求個人音樂事業，Kid Rock再次失去一個長期的音樂合作伙伴。就在此時，他和性感女演員潘蜜拉安德森（Pamela Anderson）的戀情曝光，媒體焦點自然全放在他的緋聞。同年冬天，他推出了耗時3年的錄音室作品Cocky，在告示牌專輯榜一舉進入前１０名。
