97年從格拉斯哥到倫敦發展的四人樂隊Travis，從發行首張專輯[Good Feeling]開始展露其融合搖滾、民謠、流行的寫意抒情風格，恣意揮灑陽光般的神清氣爽，產生五首Top40單曲、專輯也得到Top10成績肯定。99年第二張專輯[The Man Who]，不慍不火的文人情懷獲得廣大共鳴，促使專輯躍上Top4席次並成為該年全英最暢銷的專輯，而一首首陸續發表的單曲都獲得排行好成績包括：「Writing To Reach You」（#14）、「Driftwood」(#13)、「Why Does It Always rain On Me」(#10)、「Turn」(#4)等，其中「Why Does It Always rain On Me」被Q雜誌評為99年最佳單曲，Travis以深入人心的詞曲意境見長，因此在2000年的全英音樂獎(Brit Awards)一口氣拿下最佳樂團、最佳專輯等大獎。
