我的爸爸媽媽是很溫暖，可愛又可靠的人，陪著我一起長大的除了來自他們的愛還有一臺老舊的膠片機。它總是出現在我不同的年齡段，一張張尺寸統一的照片定格了不同時期的自己，當時的記憶紛至沓來。
可以說，“記錄”是我和我的家裡人最喜歡的一件事情。
記錄一個蛋糕的製作過程，從前期的食材選購，到將每一步驟需要的物料擺放，到最後因為是我們第一次嘗試麵包胚做成了一張大餅。
記錄一顆植物的成長，從綠油的小苗，到青年乘風，簌簌作響，到老年慢慢枯黃，從主枝乾脫落，最後回到泥土裡。
記錄我第一次去動物園，坐在大象鼻子上被嚇哭的囧樣；記錄一次我和妹妹的聖誕舞臺演出；記錄爸爸在陽台自己種植青椒的果實。
後來，我也有了一部屬於自己的膠片機，定格我的記憶。
是媽媽的膠片機讓我體會到時間給予我的生命力、選擇、美好、機遇 、迷惑不解，或者是答案。
My parents are my whole heart – apart from their love, the one thing that accompanied me through youth was mom’s old film camera. It was there through all stages of my life, capturing moments of my life in slick, uniform-sized photos that unwrapped before my eyes as I revisited them.
“Documentation” is one of my family’s favorite treasures.
Documenting our first attempt to make a cake, we recorded moments from grocery shopping to organizing the ingredients, then to our failed final product resembling a large pancake.
Documenting the growth of a plant, from a small green sprout to its old age, turning shades of yellow, shedding the main branches until finally folding back into the earth.
Documenting my first visit to the zoo, sitting on an elephant’s trunk, scared to the verge of tears; my sister and I’s Christmas performances, and Dad’s pepper plants on the balcony.
As I grew up, I gradually acquired my own film camera, to document my life in a way similar to my youth.
At the end of the day, it’s my mom’s film camera that taught me the wonders of time, the luxury of choice, beauty, opportunities, and confusion – maybe that’s what life yields.
