專輯名稱：Where I Am
In 2001, Tammy Cochran looked like Nashville's brightest new light. Wedding a strikingly powerful voice to first-rate material ('Angels in Waiting,' which she wrote about her late brothers), Cochran found Top 10 success, a slot on a George Strait tour, and stellar reviews. But then it all began to fall apart. 'Life Happened,' a killer tune about high-school dreams and the dreariness of reality, failed to catch fire in 2002. And then she pretty much disappeared. Now the Ohioan returns with a low-key singer-songwriterish album, on which she wrote or cowrote 11 of the 12 cuts, most of which revolve around romance in all its stages. The album hits its stride with 'Nobody's Home,' a Lorrie Morganish, woman-to-woman ballad of domestic yearning, and with the title tune, a quasi-gospel walk on the road back from hell. But the material suffers a certain sameness, and the breakout rhythm numbers--where's the righteous anger on 'As Soon as I'm Over You?'--play it too safe. Cochran can make a comeback, but Where I Am isn't particularly where she needs to be. --Alanna Nash
