Stormalong, John

Stormalong, Stormalong

Oh poor old Stormy's dead and gone
Storm along boys, Storm along
Oh poor old Stormy's dead and gone
Ah-ha, come along, get along
Stormy along John

I dug his grave with a silver spade
Storm along boys, Storm along
I dub his grave with a silver spade
Ah-ha, come along, get along
Stormy along John

I lowered him down with a golden chain

Stormalong - in a legend, Stormalong was said to be a sailor and a giant, some 30 ft. tall. He was the master of a huge clipper ship, purportedly so tall that it had hinged masts to avoid catching the moon, Legend says that after his death he was buried at sea and Davy Jones himself opened his famous locker to accept his body - which doesn't seem to quite fit with this version of the song.
